Accelerated immigration pathways to permanent residency for workers and students

A special public policy released last week on April 14, 2021 will grant permanent resident status to over 50,000 workers in essential occupations and 40,000 international students who are already in Canada. This policy will take effect on May 6, 2021.

To be eligible the workers must have a minimum level of language proficiency of benchmark 4 in one of Canadian official languages and a 1-year of Canadian work experience in essential sectors.

Not all international graduates will qualify for a new pathway but only those who completed an eligible program in Canada in the last 4 years (graduation earlier than January 2017 is not accepted) and have attained at least benchmark 5 in either official language for all the four language skill areas.

These streams will function on a first-come-first-serve basis and will be closed either on November 5, 2021, or when an intake limit is reached, whichever happens first.

For French-speaking foreign workers and graduates currently in Canada three additional streams are being created with no intake limit.

Canada First Way Immigration Inc. will gladly provide you with all further information on these new streams as well as assess your eligibility to apply for permanent residency.
